How to Create a 3D Bottle in Illustrator CS5
Do you know that Illustrator has a special effect that allows us to generate 3D graphics with just one click? Yes, that’s right. No more complicated 3D based programs, Illustrator has it all! In this tutorial we are going to learn how to create a 3D bottle in three easy steps.
We chose Server Intellect for its cloud hosting, for our web hosting. They have managed to handle virtually everything for us, from start to finish. And their customer service is stellar.
STEP ONE:
Create a New Illustrator Document, File > New. Name it: “3D Bottle”, and give it a size of 300px by 500px.
Open the LAYERS palette (Window > Layers (F7)) and rename “Layer 1” as, “bottle”.
STEP TWO:
Select the Pen Tool (P) with no fill, a green (C= 70%, M= 0%, Y= 100%, K= 30%) 1 point stroke, and draw the outline for the half of the bottle.
STEP THREE:
Select the path, go to Effect > 3D > Revolve, leave the settings as they are, and click OK.
Notice how with just one path and a click we obtain an awesome 3D bottle.
Now, practice with different paths. Remember, practice is the best master.
